Main Capital headquarters

Project

Office
Architect: Studio Linse
Location: Den Haag
Surface: 1200 m2
Delivery: 2024

For the new headquarters of Main Capital in The Hague, we created, in collaboration with Studio Linse, a work environment where history, refinement, and contemporary functionality come together.

Photography: Maarten Willemstein

Located in a historic building on the Plein, this location provided a unique foundation for an interior that does justice to both the rich architecture and the ambitions of the organization. The design respects and highlights the building’s original features: classic wooden panelling, ornate ceilings, stained-glass windows, and grand fireplaces have all been thoughtfully integrated into a modern and functional office concept.

The interior exudes calmness and neutrality, featuring a subdued palette of natural materials and soft colors. Against this tranquil backdrop, several striking eye-catchers come to life, such as the custom-designed lighting installation in the atrium and the sculptural furniture in the reception area. These elements give the interior a unique signature without compromising the understated elegance of the overall design.

Functionality was just as important as aesthetics. The spaces are designed for focus, collaboration, and representation, with contemporary amenities thoughtfully integrated into the historic context. This balance between old and new, style and practicality, makes the office an inspiring work environment that reflects Main Capital’s international and progressive position.

The result is a distinctive headquarters where tradition and the future naturally come together. A project we are proud to have contributed to.

What made this project special to me was the collaboration between all parties involved. The careful decision-making, the balance between old and new, and the trust we were given to contribute at a detailed level made this a partnership we look back on with pride.
