Jeroen Pit Huis
The Jeroen Pit House, near Amsterdam UMC, is an innovative care concept that bridges the gap between hospital and home for chronically seriously ill children. This unique house offers eight family flats with views of nature, surrounded by the best medical and psychosocial care in a homely setting.
Central to the building is a spacious communal living room, including living kitchen and living room, connected to nursing station and physio room. The first floor houses additional functions such as a meeting room and pa staff facilities. The design breaks away from conventional hospital corridors through playful elements such as alcoves and vistas, creating an open and inviting atmosphere.
The Jeroen Pit House has been carefully designed to provide a sense of home, with attention to detail such as the playful yellow giraffe at the entrance. This care project is a pioneering initiative that seamlessly combines homeliness and care, allowing children and families to experience a warm and supportive environment during their transition back home.
